    SEPHIROTH

Scared and hungry. Those were the main emotions the child felt at the time.

Oddly enough, he wasn't scared of Reya hurting him. He was scared of being lost again. The small lion cub was going to grow up to be a vicious warrior one day. Today he was a scared three moon old. So, when he was placed down on the earth, he pressed to Reya's leg. She was the first contact with others that he had in a while. He knew that if he lost her, like he did his mother, he wouldn't make it. What he didn't know, was there were others here.

That was until a child came bounding up to them. She was very curious of him and he was of her. The black lion cub slipped forward cautiously. That would reveal his silver underside and maw to the gathered. As well as the silver toes, silver around his eyes, and his silver tail tuft. His blue nose twitching as he sniffed the area a bit. Green optics scanned the female before him with a curious tilt of his head. He kept his one black wing tucked against his body. The other was long sense gone, anyways. Then he would speak. "Hello." One word, calm and clear.

Then there was another on the scene. Her eyes looked him over. As if searching for something. The male would then turn to her as she spoke. Head remaining up, despite his nervous feelings. She spoke in a soothing voice and he was rather glad. His mother never spoke to him and his dad was.. well.. He was crazy. Always yelling about experiments. Something about aliens. Then he had put mom in that crystal. Left Sephy to die alone. Called the cub a failed experiment. So, a soothing voice was just what he needed. If they played their cards right, when he got older they would have an immortal, alien blooded at that, killing machine. For now, they had a scared cub just trying to play tough. "Hello Blazestar." He mimicked the name swiftly. That was one of the things he got from the alien blood mixed with his normal parents DNA. He was a fast learner. Scary fast.

Especially considering, he never spoke anything but his name before.

The words were now in his brain. Weekly task was now something he would know and understand. So, the silent child would move over and offer a nod to his mothers. He would take a task, but he would not say anything. He just hoped they understood what he wanted.

Mom and mom were here. New words had been registered in the silent child's brain. Walking over calmly, he would take a seat beside Reya. Head tilting to look up at her. He would offer a soft smile, fleeting as it shifted back to his expressionless face. The male would then look over at Blaze. Watching and waiting.

The male would hear the words and slip over. The tiny cub would look at the new leader and tilt his head. He would ignore the gifts. The one winged cub was more interested in the leader. "There are other clans?" He seemed surprised as he took a seat. The leader was soon gone from his view and he would wait for his clanmate to answer him.

    SEPHIROTH

She was going to protect him and raise him. Sephy understood that much and he soon felt her grooming him. His fur was pushed back into its normal place and he would tilt his head. He had never been groomed before now. So, he was clearly a bit confused. The way his fur felt when she stopped made him relax into a seated position. Letting his body vibrate in an attempt at purring, though it was more of a tiny rumble. It was enough for him to show he was contented.

The child was starting to get better, really. It was a good sign, in his opinion. This was a safe place. A good place. Somewhere he would never be left behind again. To those here, he was more than just a horrid alien lion hybrid. To them, he wasn't a failed experiment. No, he was a normal lion to them. He liked that fact. Though his dads words were, well, haunting him. The cub was sitting outside, gazing at the stars. Thinking, really.

//1,030 words o.o my muse though lol the first part was a dream and he came outside to see his dad was lurking. plots are coming with this ^.^ \\

Death was something the cub knew all to well. He was there when his mother died at his fathers hands. The words still rang in his ears as he lived his life. Mistake. Failed experiment. Worthless. All things his father had said as he left the cub alone. All alone with his mothers body in that crystal. He was left to die. Death never came for him. No, that was not his fate. The little alien lion hybrid was not to die that day. He was alive still and that was thanks to Reya. Then, why was it he was here again? Standing beside the crystal his mother was sealed inside. Standing before her with eyes filled with sorrow. "Mother, I am so sorry." He knew this was all a dream. It couldn't be anything but a dream. Yet the guilt still consumed him. Maybe she would be alive if it wasn't for him. Had he not been a failed experiment. It was his fault for not being what his dad had wanted. "You would be alive if it wasn't for me." The child whispered as he placed a paw on the crystal.

When her eyes opened, he almost jumped from his skin. How was she alive in there? It got worse then. 'You were not at fault, my love.' The words entered his head. The cub sat back with wide eyes. Her eyes were locked and him, and full of love. This was shocking for the child. "How can you be sure?" He asked with a shaky voice. How could she not blame him? How could she not hate him? He was a failure as a son and an experiment. 'Listen, my child. Your father was a lunatic that has no idea what you really are. No idea what you will be. You are not a failed experiment, my love. Once you get older, you will become a killing machine. Immortal and unstoppable. He killed me, but you still lived. You should have starved, but you didn't. Why is that?'

The words echoed in his head as he looked back at her. The beautiful tawny lioness would simply look back. She was waiting for him to answer her. "I don't know, mother. I chalked it up to Reya saving me." He admits with a soft voice. His eyes were filled with more aw than confusion now. The child would shuffle his paws as he waited for her response. Quiet, but he knew she was still there. 'Sephiroth. You are not normal. You are a god among mortals. Alien blood flows through your veins. You can not die.' She responded softly. Her body slowly moved out of the crystal. The tawny lioness would curl around her son. The child curled his tail around his paws. She was touching him and it felt amazing.

Her smell was just as he remembered. Lavender with hints of pine. That was comforting, despite this being a dream. "Mom, am I a freak?" He asked as he curled himself into her stomach. He was safe here, in her paws. His dreams were his hiding place. He was safe when he wasn't awake. That, and he loved to see this crystal with his mother in it. This was the first time his mother had ever spoken back though. He was actually surprised. Yet, he couldn't complain. The cub would close his bright green eyes and wait for her to respond. 'No, dear cub. You are not a freak by any means. You are just different. Special.' The female would whisper back to him. That made him feel much better about himself. The female was still so kind to him, he realized. Suddenly, her warmth left him. The child opened his eyes to see her moving back towards the crystal. "No. Don't leave me." The cub pleaded as he rose back to his paws.

The lioness would stop and offered a soft smile. 'I never will, my child.' Then, she was back inside the crystal. Sephy wanted to cry. She was silent again. Still inside the crystal. The cub would turn his back to the crystal. Leaving the cave silently. As soon as he stepped paw outside, he woke up.

Laying in his nest, he opened his eyes and slowly sat up. His eyes scanned the room for his mothers. He didn't see them, though and slowly stood. Was he forgotten again? 'You are not forgotten, child.' The voice was in his own mind and he felt his heart lurch. That was what she had meant then? She was going to be with him, in his head. Would he be able to hear her all the time? He was curious about that. "Mother?" The cub asked softly. Only, no answer came to him. Frowning, he would trot over to the exit to his den. He wanted to get outside. He was going to go insane in here. If he wasn't insane already.

Once he was outside, he was greeted by the sunlight. Early dawn was lighting the camp. He was the first up, it seemed. 'You aren't alone.' The voice of his mother made him more alert. Head turning, the male would spot eyes looking right at him from the shadows. The cub felt his pelt prick at this. 'Don't look away from him. Don't flinch.' The voice of his mother made him stand stone still. His eyes locked on the creature. Soon, it vanished into the fading shadows. 'Your father wont be leaving you alone ether. That is why I am here. I will protect you.'

Slowly, he took a seat there. Starting to wonder if his home was all that safe anymore. Would the clan be able to protect him? Would he be able to protect them? His new mothers and siblings. He had to be able to protect them. To shelter them. His dad was still haunting him, but now his mother was there. She was watching over him. With her and Blaze and Reya, he would be okay. He would grow up strong and deadly. A guardian for his clan. That was something he had to do. His mind was made up now.

The cub would trot over next. Pausing to look at the deputy. Standing near his mother he would offer a tilt of his head. Was this an event? This was another clan as well. He would open his maw to take in the scent. Locking it away as an ally scent. The child would then sit and tilt his head.
